Germany's southernmost North Sea resort

Dangast, a village in the municipality of Varel, can boast of being Germany's southernmost North Sea resort. Located directly on Jade Bay, the town can look back on a long tradition as a resort. But it's not just holidaymakers who are drawn here. Since the beginning of the 20th century, renowned artists have also been coming to Dangast, establishing the seaside resort's reputation as an artists' destination. Furthermore, Jade Bay is part of the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park.

 

The apartment is located right in the centre of Dangast. Numerous cafés and restaurants, as well as a supermarket and a bakery, are in the immediate vicinity. Jade Bay Beach is just a short walk away. The town's modern water park, also within easy reach, attracts visitors for its healthy iodine-brine water. It also has a beautiful sauna area with a relaxation terrace overlooking the Wadden Sea.

Dangast lies in the heart of the district of Friesland, one of the historic settlement areas of the Frisians, even though the area is traditionally considered part of the Oldenburg region, not East Frisia. The surrounding area is perfect for exploring by bike. Whether along the dyke, on well-developed bike paths or on small quiet country roads, many idyllic destinations can be reached.

Dangast is also ideally positioned for exploring the Oldenburg region and East Frisia. Exciting towns like Jever, Aurich, and Oldenburg are nearby, as are the lively port cities of Wilhelmshaven and Bremerhaven. Nature lovers and culture buffs alike will find something to suit their tastes.
